2023年由中国紫金山天文台和南非观测站，共同发现的彗星“紫金山─阿特拉斯”（C/2023 A3）9月底抵达近日点。抬起头，你就可能用肉眼看见，这辈子看过最亮的彗星，也让全球掀起一股观彗星热潮。

NASA说法，紫金山─阿特拉斯彗星是有记录以来首次飞过地球。由于轨道周期长达八万年，可能上次看到紫金山─阿特拉斯彗星的人，是旧石器时代的史前人类尼安德塔人（Neanderthals）。

台北市立天文馆预估，10月20日前彗星亮度仍为四等以上，只要天气好，或许抬头就能幸运捕捉到彗星身影。

准备使用望远镜，大开眼界了吗？

《EarthSky》报道，太阳下山后可眺望西方天空，就能捕捉到这千载难逢的景象。夜空的紫金山─阿特拉斯彗星就像明亮火球，拖着长长的尾巴。

虽然彗星肉眼可见，但NASA马歇尔太空飞行中心主任比尔库克（Bill Cooke）建议想观星的人用上最好的装备观星。

它不会像流星划过天空。看起来更像挂在天空，每天晚上缓缓移动。如果能用肉眼看到这颗彗星，快用双筒望远镜，会让你大开眼界。

一起看彗星，请不要说不

紫金山─阿特拉斯彗星来自欧特云（Oort cloud），为围绕太阳、由冰微行星组成的球体云团。科学家一开始很怀疑，这颗由冰和冷冻气体（Frozen gases）、岩石组成的彗星，能否在太阳系之旅后存活，“但很幸运的，紫金山─阿特拉斯彗星不只顺利通过，甚至完好无损。”美国天文学家泰迪卡雷塔（Teddy Kareta）表示。

即便每隔几年，都会有几颗彗星能勉强用肉眼看到，但真正能清楚看见的彗星非常罕见。如果能看就去看，且带着任何能同行的人，让他们也亲身感受。
