虽然通用汽车（GM）不断试图证明自家电动汽车放弃采用CarPlay与Android Auto的合理性，但仍不断被外界看衰。福特（Ford）首席执行官Jim Farley于周三时在X平台上重申福特将持续采用CarPlay与Android Auto的承诺，外媒认为，Farley此举无疑是在攻击通用汽车的政策。
通用汽车在宣布放弃采用CarPlay与Android Auto后争议不断，该公司资讯娱乐产品主管Tim Babbitt日前就试图替自家公司的决定找些理由；他表示，如果汽车内不提供CarPlay，那么驾驶就不太会拿起手机来看。
Babbitt的意思是，如果CarPlay和Android Auto受到“连接不良、渲染效果差、反应慢与连接中断”的困扰时，驾驶就会拿起手机来看，将视线从路面上移开。但Babbitt随后也承认，通用汽车根本尚未验证这项说法。
在Babbitt提出他的论点后，Farley随后就在X上写道“我们致力于保留Apple CarPlay和Android Auto。福特的客户喜欢这些功能，因为这些功能有助于让他们的眼睛集中在道路上，双手集中在方向盘上。我们与苹果和Google密切合作，为客户创造非常高品质的体验。我认为SYNC 4A为我们带来了最好的体验。”

大力支持CarPlay与Android Auto的车厂不仅福特，上个月Volvo首席执行官Jim Rowan也公开表示，通用汽车的决策不是对的方向。
